PTR Launches New Level I Certification Pathway

Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) has launched an enhanced Level I certification pathway. This marks another major addition to PTR’s education pathway since the current highly-acclaimed Coach Education was drastically improved in 2009. ITF, National Associations Announce World Tennis Number Project

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and leading National Tennis Associations announced a strategic project to develop and implement a global, level-based tennis rating, designed to enable more matches to be played between players of similar levels, from beginners to professionals. USTA Names US Open Military Appreciation Day For Lt. Joe Hunt

The USTA today announced that the US Open’s annual Military Appreciation Day will be named in honor of Lt. Joe Hunt. Hunt, who won the U.S. Nationals in 1943 by beating Jack Kramer while on leave from the Navy, was killed when his Navy fighter plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean in February of 1945. He is the only U.S. Nationals or US Open champion to lose his life in service to his country. (Full story …)

USTA Foundation Receives $180K From Chase for 12 NJTL Chapters

USTA Foundation, the national charitable arm of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), announced that for the sixth consecutive year, it has partnered with longtime US Open sponsor Chase to award 12 National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) chapters with a $15,000 grant each in support of year-round tennis and education programming. WTT Season Set to Begin July 14 with New Teams, New TV Deal
