Brian Dillman Leaves RSPA; John Embree Steps In as Interim CEO

May 11, 2026

ORLANDO, Fla., May 11 — In an email that went out to RSPA members and industry partners at 6 p.m. today, John Embree anounced that RSPA CEO Brian Dillman is no longer with the organization and that the board of directors asked Embree to serve as Interim CEO. Here’s the full statement:

To the RSPA Membership and Our Industry Partners,

I’m writing to share an update and, more importantly, offer reassurance as to the state of our association.

Brian Dillman is no longer employed as the CEO of the RSPA. The Board of Directors reached out to me and asked if I would come back to serve as interim CEO, as these are uncertain times for the racquet sports industry. I accepted with a clear sense of responsibility and respect for this organization and the professionals it represents.

I want to acknowledge and thank Brian for his dedication and advocacy. His service to the RSPA and to the profession is sincerely appreciated.

My role during this period is to provide steadiness, continuity and guidance while the RSPA looks to the future. I’ve worked in the industry for a long time, and I previously served as CEO for the RSPA for 11 years. I’m confident in the strength of our collective voice and the enduring value of a professional home that puts standards and careers first.

Today, the RSPA remains focused on supporting you as a professional and strengthening the credibility of racquet sports. Our certifications, professional development and member services continue as planned, guided by the values that have earned trust for decades.

It’s an honor to serve you again, and I’m looking forward to doing so until we can find someone who can lead this association into its next era. Thank you for the work you do every day and for the pride you bring to this profession.

With respect,
John Embree
Interim CEO
