Para-Standing Tennis Invitational Returns to US Open for 3rd Consecutive Year

Field of 16 athletes representing 12 countries set for three days of competition Sept. 10-12
FLUSHING, N.Y., Sept. 7, 2026 – Para-standing tennis returns to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center from Sept. 10-12, bringing together 16 athletes from 12 countries for three days of competition at the 2026 US Open.
What started as a doubles exhibition in 2023 has grown into an annual part of the US Open. The inaugural eight-player US Open Para-Standing Invitational debuted in 2024, before the field doubled to 16 athletes in 2025. That format returns this year, with three U.S. players joining athletes from around the world.
Para-standing tennis brings together athletes with physical disabilities who compete while standing rather than using a wheelchair. Players compete across four classifications, PST1 through PST4, based on functional ability, with rules adapted to account for different levels of mobility.

The international field includes established champions, returning competitors and US Open newcomers. Michael Beglan of Ireland is among those making their debut, arriving in New York after capturing the PST-1 title at the 2026 Surbiton Trophy Grass-Court Championship. Beglan was also the PST-1 runner-up at the 2025 IPSTA World Championships and European Open, won the 2025 Malmö Open Para-Standing doubles title and helped Ireland claim the inaugural Anglo-Hibernian Cup.
The field also features reigning Para-Standing World Championship women’s singles champion Martina Siebert Cepeda of Chile, who returns for her second US Open appearance. Siebert Cepeda also captured the PST-3 singles and PST 1-4 women’s doubles titles at the 2025 North America Para-Standing Championships.

St. Croix native Kemit-Amon Lewis returns after competing in the 2025 invitational at the US Open. A former Division I tennis player at Savannah State University, Lewis returned to competitive tennis following a serious infection in 2019 that resulted in the amputation of his right hand and right leg, as well as parts of the fingers and toes on his left side. He has since become a leading advocate for the growth of para-standing tennis while continuing to compete internationally, most recently reaching the PST-2 singles final at the 2026 Oceania Para-Standing Championships.
American Keegan Ratliff has been part of the US Open’s para-standing story from the beginning, competing in the original doubles exhibition in 2023 and the inaugural invitational in 2024. Born with a congenital condition that resulted in the amputation of his left leg as an infant, Ratliff has become a prominent advocate for para-standing tennis and won the 2025 North America Para-Standing PST-2 singles title.
The US Open Para-Standing Tennis Invitational will take place on Field Courts 4–6, with play beginning at 12 p.m. There will also be a Court of Dreams activation scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM utilizing three courts.
