United States Padel Association Launches National Padel Month in October
June 9, 2026
Month-long initiative pairs grassroots learn-to-play clinics, the US Open Padel Championships and the inaugural USA Padel Awards
AUSTIN, Texas, May 21, 2026 – The United States Padel Association (USPA) has officially designated October as National Padel Month, a first-of-its-kind, industry-wide initiative to grow participation, showcase elite competition and recognize the individuals and organizations shaping the sport’s rise in the United States.
The month-long campaign brings together three signature programs: grassroots learn-to-play clinics at member clubs across the country, the US Open Padel Championships and the inaugural USA Padel Awards. Together they form the most comprehensive calendar of padel events the country has seen.
“October offers us a real opportunity to introduce the sport to new players and communities across the country,” said Bill Ullman, President of the USPA. “The growth we have seen over the past few years has been exceptional, and National Padel Month is our way of channeling that momentum and bringing padel to more people right across the USA.”
The learn-to-play component activates USPA member clubs as local hubs for beginner programming throughout October. Participating venues will offer structured introductory clinics, open courts and beginner-friendly sessions, providing a formal entry point for anyone curious about the sport.
The US Open Padel Championships, to be held October 2-4, serves as the competitive centerpiece of the month, bringing together the nation’s top players and international contenders. Championship events have historically been among the most effective tools for growing participation in racquet sports, and the US Open is expected to generate the kind of visibility that can shift broader public awareness of padel in the United States.
The inaugural USA Padel Awards recognizes the players, coaches, clubs and advocates who have driven the sport’s remarkable growth. By honoring the human stories behind padel’s rise, the coaches who introduced hundreds of students to the game, the clubs that built courts before the demand was obvious, and the players who have represented the country internationally the awards create a cultural narrative that goes beyond competition.
Padel is played on an enclosed court roughly a third the size of a tennis court, with walls in play. Accessible to players of all ages and athletic backgrounds, the sport has grown rapidly across Spain, Latin America and Europe, and is now expanding quickly in the United States, where new courts and purpose-built facilities are opening at an accelerating pace.
Additional details on participating clubs, US Open Padel Championships dates and USA Padel Awards categories will be announced at padelusa.org.
