ASBA Celebrates 60 Years of Supporting the Future of Sports Facilities
November 14, 2025
Forest Hill, MD (November 13, 2025) – The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the national organization for builders, designers, and suppliers of athletic facilities, is proud to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2025. Since its founding in 1965, ASBA has set the standard for quality, professionalism, and innovation in the construction and maintenance of sports surfaces and facilities.
Originally formed as the U.S. Tennis Court & Track Builders Association, ASBA has evolved over the past six decades to reflect the expanding scope of the industry. Today, with nearly 700 member companies representing contractors, design professionals, and suppliers, ASBA provides unmatched resources, education, and certification programs for the sports construction community.
“ASBA continues to offer the best-in-class education and networking opportunities for construction, design and suppliers in the sports construction industry,” said Randy Resley, Chairman of ASBA.

Celebrating at the 2025 Technical Meeting
ASBA will commemorate its anniversary at the 2025 Technical Meeting & Trade Show, taking place December 2–5 in San Antonio, Texas. This annual event brings together hundreds of professionals for educational sessions, certification preparation, networking, and an expansive trade show. Special programming and events will highlight ASBA’s 60 years of service and innovation.
ASBA also recognizes excellence in the sports facility construction industry through its Annual Facility Awards Program, which honors outstanding facilities exemplifying superior design, construction, and innovation across all sports surfaces.
New this year, ASBA is introducing live AI translation and captioning for inclusive and multilingual sessions across all technical tracks—Courts, Fields, Tracks, and Indoor Sports Surfaces. This feature, free for all attendees, allows participants to join from a phone, tablet, or laptop and access real-time audio or captions in dozens of languages.
“ASBA has continuously raised the bar to set the standards in quality in our industry,” said Eric Loftus, Secretary/Treasurer of ASBA.
The Technical Meeting & Trade Show offers 36 concurrent sessions across all divisions, plus unparalleled networking opportunities. To register, please visit https://sportsbuilders.org/page/technicalmeeting-registration.
Giving Back to Sports Facilities & Students
ASBA’s 60th anniversary year is also about giving back. The American Sports Builders Foundation (ASBF) coordinates and funds the construction and renovation of sports facilities and provides scholarships for students pursuing industry-related programs.
This year’s Technical Meeting Golf Tournament benefits the Foundation, helping fund facility renovations and scholarships that shape the next generation of sports design and construction professionals.
In celebration of its milestone, ASBA will match all gifts to the Foundation, including sponsorship fees, dollar for dollar up to $60,000, through the end of the year. Each sponsorship will double its impact, supporting both educational and community initiatives.
Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future
The 60th anniversary of the American Sports Builders Association is more than just a date on the calendar. It’s a marker of legacy, leadership, and innovation. It reflects six decades of professionals coming together to raise the bar for sports facility excellence.
“The connections made through ASBA have been so important both professionally and personally,” said Meg Buczynski, P.E., Chair-Elect. “Helping each other achieve the highest level of design and construction for all of our athletic clients is so meaningful.
As ASBA celebrates, it honors its past, acknowledges achievements, and sets its sights firmly on the future: better standards, more innovation, increasing sustainability, and ensuring that sports builders continue to lead in creating safe, durable, high-quality athletic facilities for generations to come.
