USTA New England Names Lindsey Keeler as New Executive Director

March 30, 2022

The United States Tennis Association New England Section Board of Directors is excited to announce the appointment of Lindsey Keeler as the association’s new Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer.

“After a comprehensive search process, the board is pleased to welcome Lindsey,” said David Champoux, President of USTA New England. “She has a proven track record of strong leadership at the Section level and has established impactful relationships with numerous USTA team and tennis industry partners. This combined with her deep industry knowledge, commitment to the mission and focus on growth in the sport make her the ideal choice to lead USTA New England and further its impact on the sport.”

Keeler will be joining USTA New England as the former Chief Program Officer for the USTA Mid-Atlantic Section where she was responsible for overseeing the strategic vision of all programs and services for the entire organization and leading a team of over 30 full- and part-time staff. During her time in leadership at USTA Mid-Atlantic, the Section consistently was rated among The Nonprofit Times Best Nonprofits to Work For and an Aspen Institute Project Play Champion. She replaces Matt Olson, who served USTA New England for over seven years and is now the Executive Director of USTA Southern.

Lindsey has tallied over 12 years within the USTA family. Prior to her leadership role at the USTA Mid-Atlantic, she led all adult programs and initiatives at both USTA Hawaii and USTA Southwest. During her time at the USTA Mid-Atlantic, Keeler has implemented innovative programs, initiatives and services. Internally she spearheaded incorporation of a complete performance management platform for staff, introduced a customer relationship management system and collaborated with staff and board on the development of the Section’s five-year strategic plan. Externally, she’s launched formal programmatic partnerships with park agencies, grown participation in the USTA League program and rolled out access initiatives centered around data and reducing gaps in court and programming availability throughout the Section.

In her new role as USTA NE Executive Director, Keeler will be responsible for leading the Section’s dedicated staff. She will work closely with the Board of Directors, volunteers, partners and industry stakeholders to execute the Section’s five-year Strategic Plan and carry forth the mission of the organization.

“I am extremely excited and honored to assume this role and join the amazing team of dedicated staff and volunteers at USTA New England,” said Keeler. “We are poised to build on the tremendous momentum of the industry and Section’s successes and to further develop the vision and impact of the Section Foundation. My passion for tennis is strong and rooted in a true love for the game. Tennis has given me so much and I want everyone to have the same opportunities and benefits that the sport has provided me.”

She holds a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing from Manhattan College, where she also played four years of college tennis, and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE), a credential marker of a committed association professional who has demonstrated the wide range of knowledge essential to manage an association in all environments. An avid USTA League player and captain, Keeler will make the transition to the Boston area and start May 16.
