Lucas Pouille Joins Babolat, Chooses Babolat Pure Drive Racquet

March 31, 2020

Babolat is proud to announce the arrival of Lucas Pouille (FRA) to its international team of professional players. Lucas has chosen to play with the Babolat Pure Drive, appreciating the power of this racket. He will start the season with his new weapon at Indian Wells on hard court, his favorite surface.

Lucas Pouille, 25, is currently No. 57 in the ATP rankings. He made a name for himself in the tennis world by qualifying for the semifinals of the 2019 Australian Open, by making his way into the ATP Top 10 in March 2018, by winning five titles on the ATP circuit, and with a Davis Cup victory in 2017. Babolat will support him on an ongoing basis with equipment perfectly aligned to his needs and to the evolution of his game.

“We are very pleased to welcome Lucas to our international team to represent the Babolat brand at the highest level,” said Jean-Christophe Verborg, Director of Competition at Babolat. “We appreciate his qualities as an athlete and share the same values: determination, competitive spirit, close relationship, and passion.”

“I am delighted to join the Babolat tennis family and to be able to collaborate with a brand that has always put technical innovation at the heart of its mission, as well as tailor-made support of its athletes,” said Lucas Pouille. “Its results at the highest levels of professional tennis speak for themselves. I look forward to the journey we will take together for the rest of my career.”

The brand’s iconic racket, the Pure Drive, has equipped great champions over the decades from Carlos Moya (ESP) and Andy Roddick (USA) to Li Na (CHN). Lucas Pouille will strengthen the team of today’s Babolat Pure Drive players: Fabio Fognini (ITA), Taro Daniel (JPN), Garbiñe Muguruza (ESP), Sofia Kenin (USA) and Kim Clijsters (BEL) to name a few.
