USPTA, USTA Foundation Partner to Establish ‘USPTA Fund’

September 19, 2019

The USPTA and the USTA Foundation are excited to announce the establishment of the USPTA Fund under the auspices of the USTA Foundation. As part of this partnership between the USPTA and the USTA Foundation, the USPTA is replacing its auction at the 2019 USPTA World Conference with a new online auction and we’re asking our members to promote this auction to friends, colleagues and clientele.

2019 auction offerings include US Open and Roland Garros packages, Playmate Ball Machines, exciting golf packages and an opportunity to hit at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Earlier this year, the Board of Directors of the USPTA Foundation voted unanimously to dissolve the USPTA Foundation and designate the USTA Foundation, the charitable arm of the United States Tennis Association, as the USPTA’s charity of choice. The USTA Foundation, in turn, has established a restricted USPTA Fund for charitable giving by our members.

Fifty percent of all funds raised through the auction will be placed into the restricted USPTA Fund to recognize USPTA’s charitable giving and the remaining funds will be unrestricted to the USTA Foundation to support tennis and education programs within the National Junior Tennis & Learning network.

“At the USPTA, we are passionate about growing the game of tennis, passionate about education and passionate about helping to create the next generation of players and leaders,” USPTA President Gary Trost said. “The USPTA is excited to join forces with our new official charity, the USTA Foundation, to help serve up dreams for under-resourced youth across the country.”

“On behalf of the USTA Foundation, I am proud to say that we are the official charity of the USPTA,” USTA Foundation Executive Director Dan Faber said. “We thank them for recognizing the impact that tennis and education can have on youth, both on and off the court, and how the USTA Foundation’s commitment to youth development aligns with their corporate values. This is the beginning of a long and extraordinary partnership.”
