Tennis Channel's 11th Year of US Open Coverage Begins Aug. 26

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19, 2019 - Tennis Channel’s 11th year of US Open coverage begins on the first morning of the tournament with Tennis Channel Live at the US Open, on Monday, Aug. 26, at 8 a.m. ET. The daily lead-in show will prepare fans for that day’s match schedule and what to expect throughout the tournament. Following play, Tennis Channel will have all-night encore matches leading into the next morning. Throughout the two-week event Tennis Channel’s on-air team will feature its customary roster of Hall of Fame analysts and veteran sportscasters.

Tennis Channel Live at the US Open will be hosted by Brett Haber (@BrettHaber) and Mary Carillo as they bring fans the latest news and storylines from Flushing Meadows. They will be joined by Hall of Fame analysts Martina Navratilova (@Martina), Jim Courier and Lindsay Davenport (@LDavenport76), as well as tennis coach Paul Annacone (@paulannacone) and Sports Illustrated’s Jon Wertheim (@jonwertheim). During the three-hour program, Tennis Channel’s team will offer match previews, news, updates from players, and analysis and reactions to the action that has transpired. The show runs every morning through Wednesday, Sept. 4. Tennis Channel Live at the US Open’s coverage returns during championship weekend with special one-hour editions at 7 p.m. ET on both Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8. Original segments and features like “Coaching in the Bigs” with Annacone, will appear on Tennis Channel Live at the US Open over the course of the tournament.

Tennis Channel’s encore coverage of the US Open features all-night match blocks beginning at 12 a.m. ET. For the first 10 days of the event, these telecasts begin at midnight ET and run until the start of the following day’s Tennis Channel Live at the US Open. Coverage Thursday, Sept. 5, and Friday, Sept. 6, begins at 11 p.m. ET and airs through 12 p.m. ET. During the championship weekend on Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8, encore matches will start at 8 p.m. Tennis Channel will show 130 hours of encore coverage throughout the two-week event and have 32 hours of Tennis Channel Live at the US Open. In all, the network will offer more than 160 hours from Flushing Meadows.

On-Air Talent Navratilova, Courier, Davenport and Austin all saw success in New York, with each player reaching at least the singles final of the event. Between them, they’ve won a combined 72 major titles, with 20 of those being US Open trophies.

Rounding out the network’s analyst team are Tennis Channel staples Annacone and James Blake (@JRBlake). Blake, a native New Yorker, had his share of success at the US Open as well, with two runs to the quarterfinals and memorable matches against Andre Agassi, Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt. Annacone, who is best known for his coaching success with Pete Sampras and Federer, also played well at the US Open during his career, making a doubles final appearance in 1990.

Carillo, a US Open doubles quarterfinalist in 1977, returns with the unique personality, storytelling and humor to which viewers have become accustomed. Known for her honesty as a journalist and commentator of tennis, the Olympics and other sporting events, she has become revered amongst fans. During the US Open she will offer special reports during the tournament, call matches and moderate panel discussions.

Award-winning announcers Haber and Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman) will also handle play-by-play duties during US Open matches. Both have vast resumes that include time as anchors on ESPN’s SportsCenter. In addition to working at ESPN, Haber is a prominent figure within the tennis community and hosts the International Tennis Hall of Fame induction ceremony each season. Weissman, in addition to his work at Tennis Channel, is frequently an on-air personality for NFL Network. Throughout the season, Carillo, Haber and Weissman host shows, tournaments and announce for the network.

Tennis Channel reporter and analyst Wertheim is returning for another year of US Open coverage with the network. Wertheim is also Sports Illustrated’s executive editor and writes one of the sport’s most popular columns every week.

Digital Coverage Tennis Channel’s US Open coverage is available to most network subscribers wherever they go for free via authenticated streaming on the channel’s app. Tennis Channel Plus, the network’s digital subscription service, also offers classic late-round and finals matches from this year’s Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon. During the tournament, www.tennis.com will have all the latest scores and highlights, as well as new stories and columns from the site’s team of writers. On the grounds in New York will be reporters Steve Tignor (@SteveTignor), Nina Pantic (@NinaPantic1) and Ed McGrogan (@EdMcGrogan), along with Hall of Fame Writer Steve Flink (@sflinko) and tennis historian Joel Drucker (@joeldrucker).

Fans will also be able to enter Tennis Channel’s free tournament prediction game “Racquet Bracket” on www.tennis.com. During the event viewers can engage with Tennis Channel and www.tennis.com’s coverage of the US Open on social media through their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
