Tennis Channel Wimbledon Coverage Gets Under Way July 1

LOS ANGELES, June 24, 2019 – Tennis Channel returns to London for its 12th consecutive year of Wimbledon coverage from the All England Lawn Tennis Club next week, starting with the first day of play Monday, July 1. During the event the network will offer more than 200 hours of tennis, beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET the first day, with encore presentations throughout the night.

Tennis Channel’s coverage will feature an in-stadium set and studio, and matches from multiple courts in the world’s most historic tennis club. The network’s vast on-air lineup includes Hall of Famers Martina Navratilova (@Martina), Jim Courier and Lindsay Davenport (@LDavenport76) as analysts. Navratilova and Davenport combine to boast 22 Wimbledon titles in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. A finalist in 1993, Courier found success at the event too. Joining them is analyst and famed coach Paul Annacone (@paul_annacone), who led two of the sport’s greatest players of all-time, Roger Federer and Pete Sampras, to Wimbledon championships.

Mary Carillo returns to London and will serve as host and reporter for the network. Revered by sports fans for her signature style and humor when covering events, she will take part in panel discussions, provide analysis and create special features. Returning for his 12th straight Wimbledon for Tennis Channel is Bill Macatee (@BMacatee), who will share hosting responsibilities with Carillo. Announcer Ted Robinson (@tedjrobinson), joins Brett Haber (@BrettHaber) and Steve Weissman (@SteveWeissman). Jon Wertheim (@jonwertheim) is also back with the network and will offer in-depth essays and analysis during the tournament. Wertheim has become a fixture of Tennis Channel’s year-round tournament coverage and is executive editor and senior writer for Sports Illustrated.

Tennis Channel’s nightly Wimbledon coverage is split between two editions with different matches in each. The network will follow this pattern of late-afternoon and early evening blocks of matches throughout the tournament. Encores of the ladies’ and gentlemen’s singles championships will air on Tennis Channel Saturday, July 13, and Sunday, July 14, at 6 p.m. ET respectively. The network’s Wimbledon interviews and segments will be available digitally on www.tennischannel.com and www.tennis.com. All short-form productions will also be accessible on these platforms during and after the tournament.
