Hilton Head Island, SC — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is getting ready to kick off it’s 40th Anniversary. Beginning with the PTR International Tennis Symposium in February and continuing throughout the year, PTR will celebrate 40 years of tennis teaching excellence.

The organization was founded in 1976 by acclaimed coach, Dennis Van der Meer with support from colleagues, including 2016 PTR Hall of Fame inductee Billie Jean King. PTR is now the world’s largest international association devoted to tennis teachers and coaches. PTR has grown from one general certification in the early years to five distinct education pathways today (10 & Under, 11 to 17, Performance, Adult Development and Senior Development).
