New USPTA Southern PTM Program Scholarship
Fayetteville, NC — The USPTA Southern Division has graciously decided to donate a scholarship award to the Methodist University Professional Tennis Management (PTM) Program that will consist of (2) awards, per year, for three consecutive years to be disbursed to a total of (6) different award recipients, during the fall semester of their respective sophomore years and applied to their Methodist University institutional costs. The purpose of the scholarship is to honor the USPTA Southern Division and to provide financial assistance to students who have demonstrated an interest in a career in the tennis industry and are properly enrolled in the PTM concentration or minor at Methodist University.
The USPTA Southern is actively seeking ways to promote the game of tennis and increase the pool of new, young teaching professionals in the United States. The USPTA Southern Division’s financial gift to the Methodist PTM Program provides opportunities for new professionals to enter into the industry and make a direct impact on tennis in the United States.
“We are very grateful for the continued support and involvement of the USPTA with the Methodist University PTM Program. This new scholarship provided by the USPTA Southern Division will allow for young, and passionate, teaching professionals to pursue their dreams of entering into the tennis industry with a college education, numerous teaching certifications, and knowledge of the tennis business with a lightened financial burden,” said Kaitlin Flaherty, Assistant Director of PTM, Methodist University.
