Dunlop Harnesses the Power of Nature
GREENVILLE, SC — Dunlop today announced five new rackets incorporating the evolutionary design process known as Biomimetics. Biomimetics means to ‘imitate life,’ and in this case, Dunlop has taken evolutionary design aspects from the shark, bee, and gecko to design and develop its new line of tennis rackets. The new frames hit stores in mid November, but some Dunlop Tour Team members have already put them in play. Dunlop is hosting a launch event in Manhattan to introduce the Biomimetic rackets to key figures in the tennis industry, as well as media. On hand will be brand ambassador John McEnroe along with other members of the Dunlop Tour Team, including Fernando Verdasco and Nikolay Davydenko.
Here’s a breakdown of each racket:
Biomimetic 200 Plus
An ideal racket for advanced players, the 200 Plus features:
100sq. inch head Head Light 327g / 11.53oz strung weight 20mm parallel beam 18x20 string pattern 27" long
The Biomimetic 200 Plus is perfect for today’s aggressive all-court player, offering outstanding control with the added power of a 100sq. inch head. The racket is constructed with 100% premium Aerogel enhanced graphite and features Dunlop’s new Biomimetic technologies: Aeroskin to reduce aerodynamic drag, making the racket faster through the air; HM6 Carbon to enhance the racket feel, and the Gecko-Tac grip for ultimate control in all conditions. The Biomimetic 200 Plus will be Nikolay Davydenko’s racket of choice.
