Tennis Welcome Center Spotlight: Auburndale Tennis Center
The players and staff at Auburndale Tennis Center, 45 miles east of Tampa, Fla., have a lot to be excited about. Not only were they named as a Top 50 Tennis Welcome Center for 2008, but they are also about to celebrate the grand opening of eight new clay courts.
“After the clay courts are open, we’ll be one of the most affordable clay-court facilities in Florida,” says Andy Durham, tennis director at Auburndale T.C. “And despite a down economy, our profit has been increasing dramatically.”
Durham attributes much of this success to the fact that “programs are there because people want them, not because the staff wants them. We listen to our players and have already changed our upcoming summer program four times to make our players happy.”
