Award-Winning ‘Second Serve’ Tennis Podcast Announces May Lineup

May 2, 2022

Raleigh, NC (May 1, 2022) — Second Serve, a unique tennis podcast created exclusively for adult recreational tennis players by everyday players who are passionate about the game, is wowing an audience that, until now, hasn’t had a show specifically dedicated to them.

The episodes are geared toward adults playing a sport in the later years of life (hence, the name “Second Serve”). The goal of the podcast is to promote and grow the game of tennis for adults.

Founded and co-hosted by Carolyn Roach and Erin Conigliaro, Second Serve podcast is consistently ranked in the top 10 U.S. tennis podcasts. While most tennis podcasts are about professional tennis or are hosted by experts who grew up playing, these co-hosts are ordinary players who started playing tennis as adults at the lowest levels (NTRP 2.5).

Carolyn and Erin truly believe everyone who plays tennis has been impacted by the sport and has a story. They have a true passion for playing tennis, love sharing their stories, and strive to grow the game through this podcast.

Laura Weygandt, Executive Director of Western Wake Tennis Association and frequent listener stated, “I love that Second Serve’s podcasts are less than 15 minutes and cover topics like rules, league play, state championships, friendships and really anything that involves tennis! It’s a fun and educational way to hear and learn about all things tennis.”

In May, Second Serve will focus on topics related to National Tennis Month. The topics will include :

• How To Get Your Friends to Start Playing Tennis – May 7

• How to Sign Up for Social or Competitive Leagues – May 14

• Attending Professional Tennis Tournaments Can Improve Your Game – May 21

• How To Be a Good Teammate – May 28

(schedule subject to change)

Second Serve podcast discusses the real-world experiences of adults playing recreational tennis. Co-hosts Carolyn and Erin also interview fellow everyday players about their experiences. They’re relatable, as they know what it’s like to balance having a family and career and playing adult recreational tennis. They also know what it’s like to win and lose from levels 2.5 to 4.0, which represent over 80% of USTA players. Their 2021 accolades include RSI Magazine’s “Grassroots Champion of the Year,” USTA Southern District’s “Marc Kaplan Media Excellence Award” and USTA North Carolina’s “Grady Elmore Media Excellence Award.”
