ITA Announces Modifications to D-II, D-III, NAIA & JuCo Fall Tennis

TEMPE, Ariz. (August 19) — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced updates to its Division II, Division III, NAIA & Junior College fall tournament schedule. Certain ITA Small College Regional Championships will not be held this fall and the 2020 ITA Cup will feature NAIA competition only. Following recent conference & institutional announcements to suspend fall athletics, the ITA Office consulted the following Operating Committees for revisions to the upcoming season.

The following decisions were voted on by the ITA Division II Operating Committee on August 17th, 2020.

The following decisions were voted on by the ITA Division III Operating Committee on August 17th, 2020.

The following decisions were voted on by the ITA Junior College Operating Committee on August 18th, 2020.

NAIA will commence with all ITA Regional Championships & the NAIA portion of the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia, on October 16-18, 2020. No modifications are required at this time.

Building on the success of the recently completed 2020 Oracle ITA Summer Circuit and 2020 Oracle ITA National Summer Championships, opportunities for play in the fall will be available to collegiate, professional, and junior players. The recently announced ITA Tour: Fall Circuit by UTR begins on September 18th and will run for 10 weeks. These locally-based tournaments will provide exciting level-based competition in a safe environment with small draws and no fans. Selections will be made based on UTR and will only feature singles play. The tournament schedule will be released on August 24th with the phased tournament registration beginning on August 31st.
