France Downs Australia, 3-2, to Win 2019 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas
France won the 2019 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Final, defeating Australia 3-2 at the RAC Arena, Perth. France are Fed Cup Champions for the third time after Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic secured victory in the final doubles match with a 6-4 6-3 win over Ashleigh Barty and Samantha Stosur.
In the two earlier singles matches, Kristina Mladenovic recorded a 3-set victory over World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty before Ajla Tomljanovic levelled the tie, defeating Pauline Parmentier to force a deciding doubles match.
As 2019 Finalists, both France and Australia have qualified for the 2020 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Finals in Budapest, on 14-19 April.
