PPR Creates Youth Development Education for Coaches
Hilton Head Island, SC (Feb. 5, 2019) — Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) announced it has expanded its education by creating a new program - Youth Development - for pickleball coaches. The inaugural workshop will be conducted during the East Coast PPR Conference on Hilton Head Island Feb. 16.
The PPR Youth Development curriculum will help coaches introduce basic pickleball skills in a dynamic manner and discover fun skill building activities and games. Coaches will acquire effective methods for managing play for groups of all sizes, ages and abilities, and learn to adapt to any size space. Participants will also learn how to keep kids energized and engaged. Jason Jamison will conduct the first ever Youth Development Workshop on Saturday, February 16. Additional courses will be scheduled across the country starting this spring.
A familiar name in tennis, Jamison is a PPR Certified Professional and National Clinician, and is a Certified Youth Sports Administrator with the National Alliance for Youth Sports. Jamison worked closely with the PPR to develop the new Youth Development curriculum for pickleball that will be delivered around the country. He is also a Recreation Programs Advisor for USA Pickleball helping steer growth initiatives for youth, collegiate, and adult/senior populations. He was a featured presenter at the Inaugural PPR Pickleball Conference in Indian Wells in March, and will present at the East Coast PPR Conference.
