Women in Tennis Forum to be Held at PTR Symposium
Hilton Head Island, SC (Jan. 2, 2019) — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) announced that it will hold a Women in Tennis Forum during the PTR International Tennis Symposium - Feb. 12-15, on Hilton Head Island, S.C.. The Forum will be on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Sarah Stone will moderate a panel of experts, including former World #1 Gigi Fernandez, Andy Murray’s coach Judy Murray, Tennis Australia’s Emma Doyle and Leizel Huber’s coach Tony Huber. The forum is a collaborative effort to elevate women in tennis by creating awareness and attracting and progressing women to higher level positions in coaching, and as directors of tennis. This year’s Symposium boasts a record number of female presenters. Twenty-five percent of the 40 speakers are women.
In addition to the Symposium presentations, attendees can gain specialized education from the professional development courses including Gigi Fernandez doubles course - The Gigi Method, and Judy Murray’s Miss-Hits. Attendees can also play the PTR-UTR Championships. Aside from competition and unparalleled education, the Symposium offers abundant networking opportunities, a Tennis Trade Show, and a day of demo courts, where attendees can try the latest equipment and on court technologies. Fun abounds at the Parade of Nations Flag Ceremony, Hall of Fame induction and Awards Banquet, and the HEAD/Penn Casino Dinner and Dance Party. PTR International Tennis Symposium’s balance of education and entertainment sends attendees home rejuvenated to share their newfound wealth of information in the clubs and courts back home.
