USTA, Tennis Channel to Deliver College Tennis Top 25 Rankings
ORLANDO, Fla. - The USTA announced that it and Tennis Channel will partner to deliver the Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25 Rankings across multiple digital and television platforms in 2019.
The men’s and women’s polls return for their third season beginning on January 30 and will once again rate the Top 25 men’s and women’s teams in NCAA Division I. The new partnership includes a voting presence from Tennis Channel’s Director of Content Strategy, Brandon Moglen, as well as inclusion of the polls on Tennis Channel’s television and digital platforms in addition to the USTA’s when they’re released each Wednesday.
The 2019 voting panel has also expanded to include renowned collegiate sports reporter Andy Katz and Caitlin Thompson of Racquet Magazine.
The full list of voters participating in the 2019 rankings are: Casey Angle (former Intercollegiate Tennis Association Director of Championships); Jordan Bishop (The News Press; Stillwater, Okla.); Virgil Christian (USTA Collegiate Tennis); Richard Croome (The Eagle; Bryan, Texas); Sonny Dearth (Daily Press; Newport News, Va.); Granger Huntress (Texas College Tennis); David Fish (Universal Tennis Ratings); Andy Katz; Bobby Knight (College Tennis Today); Brandon Moglen (Tennis Channel); Dallas Oliver/Shannon Wrege (Tennis Recruiting Network); Michael Patrick (former University of Tennessee women’s head coach), Lisa Stone (Parenting Aces) and Caitlin Thompson (Racquet Magazine).
This is the latest partnership involving college tennis between the USTA and Tennis Channel. For the second straight year, it will televise the live College MatchDay series from the USTA National Campus, beginning with a matchup between the Florida and Florida State men on Saturday, February 2, at 6 p.m. ET.
