K-Swiss Appoints Mike Miringoff VP of Sales, Americas
(Los Angeles, CA) May 11, 2018 - K-Swiss announced the promotion of Mike Miringoff to VP of Sales for the Americas region. In this new role, Miringoff will report to K-Swiss President Barney Waters and will be responsible for all of K-Swiss’ wholesale business in the U.S. market, along with managing distributors in Canada, Central and South America.
Miringoff joined K-Swiss in October of 2016 as Global Director of Tennis, tasked with revamping and reigniting the tennis business in the Americas. Miringoff successfully grew the tennis business by 40% in his first full year, with similar growth forecasted for 2018. Under his leadership, K-Swiss saw unit sell-through share grow to over 12% of the U.S. market, while the brand’s ranking in unit share improved by two places, from #6 to #4.
“By applying his extensive experience to our tennis business, he achieved incredible results in a short period of time” said Barney Waters, K-Swiss President. Miringoff was instrumental in creating a new category strategy and business model, driving product development, and pioneering marketing programs focused on sell-through.
Prior to K-Swiss, Miringoff was the Regional Commercial Manager for the APAC region for Wilson Sporting Goods Co., based in Shanghai, and also held U.S.-based roles for Wilson and NIKE, including Western Regional Sales Manager and Key Account Manager. Mike has an extensive track record of sales management and business growth results, and takes over the Americas region during a period of positive growth and profitability for the storied brand.
K-Swiss tennis territory sales manager Steve Rothstein has been appointed as U.S. National Sales Manager for K-Swiss Tennis, reporting to Miringoff. Rothstein has 28 years of experience and relationships in the tennis industry, with 22 years spent at K-Swiss, as the first specialty tennis rep in the company. U.S. tennis sales agents will report to Rothstein in his new role.
Also reporting to Miringoff will be Jackie Scarnici in the new role of U.S. Marketing Manager for K-Swiss Tennis. Scarnici has spent 16 years in the tennis industry, having worked at the governing body of U.S. tennis, the USTA, as a sports agent for SFX, for tennis brand Prince and at Asics for their prior tennis distributor.
