ITA, PlaySight Extend Collegiate Tennis Partnership

December 7, 2017

TEMPE, Ariz. (Dec. 7, 2017) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association and PlaySight are pleased to announce an extension of their collegiate tennis partnership.

Over the past two years, the ITA has helped facilitate PlaySight’s SmartCourt expansion across all divisions of the sport. PlaySight is now powering close to 50 men’s and women’s programs, including the University of Southern California, Princeton, Harvard, Ohio State, and most recently, the University of Florida and Indiana University.

Through its innovative technology, PlaySight has helped bring data analytics, video content, live streaming and now line call reviews through PlayFair to the ITA and college tennis, helping athletes and coaches to practice smarter and improve faster, and shining a light on programs with cutting-edge recruiting tools and better fan and alumni engagement with live streaming and video highlights.

“Working with our colleagues at PlaySight has been a delight and most productive,” said ITA Chief Executive Officer Timothy Russell. “Their entire team is passionate about college tennis and is helping shape the future of the sport – advancing how players train and how competitive matches take place on court. PlaySight is an astonishing enterprise on many levels – their big picture vision is coupled with technical excellence, attention to details, an on-going quest for constant improvement, and an incredible corporate work ethic. The ITA is looking forward to a bright future in collaborating with an important industry leader, as together we work to continue to add value to the college tennis landscape.”

“The ITA has been a perfect partner for us and we couldn’t be happier to continue working with them,” said Yuval Bar Yosef, the GM of PlaySight’s US operations. “Our beginnings as a sports technology company are firmly planted in college tennis – we installed our first SmartCourt nearly four years ago at the University of Georgia and we’re now working with the top teams all over the country. We’re particularly excited about driving change in the sport with our PlayFair video replay initiative.”

“We are thrilled about our partnership extension with PlaySight,” said ITA Chief Operating Officer Erica Perkins Jasper. “From the start we have worked hand in hand with their team on a number of projects over the past few years – including our current PlayFair pilot program. Integrating PlayFair technology and video replay review into college tennis is an exciting prospect and we are thankful to be working in partnership with PlaySight.”
