PTR, evolve9 Partner to Train Coaches to Keep Girls in the Game
Hilton Head Island, SC (Nov. 7, 2017) — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is pleased to announce that it has been named the Official Education Partner of Girls Tennis Network (GTN), a program developed by evolve9 to help tennis coaches and facilities keep girls in the game. The program focuses on giving coaches the skills to retain young female players ages 8-12, by providing drills, games and activities delivered through the six core principles of the GTN program. GTN was successfully launched at the Women’s Tennis Coaching Association (WTCA) Conference held in August 2017, in New York City.
Through this collaborative partnership, PTR and evolve9 will offer one day GTN Workshops to PTR members throughout 2018. “We continually strive to provide the most current and relevant education opportunities for our members, which is why PTR is especially excited to be leading the charge on this innovative new program,” said Brian Parkkonen, PTR Director of Education. “This will be the first of many new partnerships with experts from around the world to bring the latest developments in coach education to the PTR network.”
Mike Barrell, evolve9 Director, added, “We are thrilled that PTR is joining us on our mission to keep more girls in the game. PTR shares our vision and goal to help coaches around the world better understand the needs of girls and provide high quality tennis environments for them.”
