Parkkonen promoted to Director of Education

Hilton Head Island, SC — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is pleased to announce the promotion of Brian Parkkonen to Director of Education. For three years, Parkkonen had been serving as the organization’s Director of Development.

Parkkonen has extensive experience directing tennis, from public facilities through large commercial clubs and academies, allowing him to connect with a wide array on the coaching and business sides of the industry. He is a recognized USTA High Performance Coach and worked as the lead for Early Development Camps (EDC) in South Carolina. Having served on several USTA committees, including Chair of the Player Development Committee, Parkkonen currently Co-Chairs the USTA South Carolina Coaches Committee and is a member of the USTA Southern Coaches Commission.

Closely connected to industry trends in coach education and technology, Parkkonen embarks as Director of Education with the roll out of a new and enhanced LMS (learning management system) platform that will serve as PTR’s education dashboard. Parkkonen commented, “Combining the latest technology with PTR’s extensive education content, this platform increases the reach of our education. I’m excited for the opportunity to continue to enhance our education and the many ways it can be accessed by PTR coaches around the world.”

PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
