Future of Tennis Forum scheduled
The Future of Tennis Forum will be on Monday, March 27, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in Orlando, Fla. The Forum is presented by the Tennis Industry Association (TIA) and will feature key speakers from U.S. and global tennis associations. It kicks off the fourth annual Tennis Owners & Managers Conference, at the award-winning Rosen Shingle Creek Resort.
TIA President Jeff Williams and Executive Director Jolyn de Boer will open the Future of Tennis Forum with an update on the latest tennis industry news, data, and more, with Sports Marketing Surveys’ Keith Storey. Then Dr. Jack Groppel, the co-founder of the Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute, will offer a preview of the importance of connecting health and wellness messages to consumers.
On the global sports stage, fitness, performance and youth sports expert Dr. Gregory Rose will discuss how other sports are bringing youngsters into their games, and what tennis in the U.S. can do to create more life-long players. Dr. Stuart Miller, the senior executive director of the International Tennis Federation, will share what the ITF is doing to help grow tennis around the world, including through online communities.
Craig Morris, the USTA’s general manager of Community Tennis & Youth Tennis, will reveal a key initiative designed to help drive more youth players into the game—and how tennis businesses can benefit.
Wrapping up the Future of Tennis Forum will be the inaugural “Tennis Innovation Challenge,” a “Shark-Tank”-like competition in which the three finalists present their innovative tennis product or service to a panel of judges (and an audience of industry leaders and tennis facility owners and managers). The competition will be moderated by Carlos Salum, president of the leadership, performance and strategy firm Salum International Resources.
