All HEAD Penn final at Nationals

June 1, 2016

Denver, Colorado – The Men’s Championship Final at the 2016 USA Racquetball National Singles Championships was an ALL HEAD Penn affair. Rocky Carson (Ladera Ranch, CA) and Jose Diaz (Stockton, CA) cruised through their halves of the draw to meet in the finals with a National Championship on the line.

The event served as the final stage for the selection of the U.S. National Team that will represent the United States at the World Championships in Colombia in July. In the final in Denver, Rocky prevailed over Jose in the HEAD Penn final to earn a spot on his 19th U.S. National Team.

The win capped a successful indoor season for Rocky where he won three tournaments on the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) and finished as a runner-up at the National Doubles Championships. He finished the season as the No. 2 ranked player on the IRT, making it a solid decade of year-end finishes inside the Top 5.

The 2015-2016 season was quite successful for Jose Diaz as well. The 23 year old won the U.S. National Men’s Doubles Championship in February and in March captured the No. 2 Men’s Singles Division at the U.S. National Intercollegiate Championships. Jose finished the season on the IRT ranked No. 19.
