Weyreuter receives PTR/USTA Service Award
Hilton Head Island, SC — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) presented its annual awards last week during 2016 PTR International Tennis Symposium. The event, which includes more than 40 educational presentations for tennis teachers and coaches, was held February 17-20, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Jessica Weyreuter, of Montgomery, Alabama, receives the PTR/USTA Service to the Community Award.
A former WTA Tour player, Weyreuter came to the United States with a full tennis scholarship to Lindsey Wilson College. She was named Team Captain and became a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic Women’s Semifinalist, Mid-South Conference Academic All Conference and ITA All-American.
After graduating with a major in Communications and minor in Business Administration, Weyreuter went on to earn a Masters in International Relations from Auburn. She is fluent in German, Spanish, English, and competent in Portuguese.
As the Founder and CEO of Jessiwey, LLC, Weyreuter is focused on providing consulting services to athletic programs that lead organizations to a higher level of efficiency in the areas of participation, retention, goodwill and profits.
One of her current projects includes the creation of a non-profit organization, Dream Court, with a mission of sharing hope and changing lives through tennis. This is a new adaptive tennis program for children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. In addition to her selfless effort to grow the sport of tennis, Weyreuter also passionately supports the Alabama World Affairs Council.
Even with her busy schedule, Weyreuter still manages to get on the tennis court at the prestigious Montgomery Country Club, where she serves as Director of Junior Tennis, and help players improve their technical and mental performance.
