Longoria starts 2016 with a win
Cincinnati, Ohio - Paola Longoria - the No. 1 ranked player in the world - dominated the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) in 2015 by winning 12 tournaments and only losing one match all year. At the 2016 kick off LPRT event in Cincinnati, Paola (Monterrey, Mexico) cruised to titles in both the Professional Singles and Professional Doubles Divisions.
The win in the Queen City was the 66th career professional singles tournament title for Longoria. The Queen of Racquetball only dropped one game all weekend long in both the singles and doubles divisions.
In the Women’s Open Division, HEAD Penn’s Sharon Jackson (Atlanta, Georgia) won the highly competitive draw. Jackson and fellow HEAD Penn teammate Maria Jose Vargas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) reached the Round of 16 in the Professional Singles Division.
The LPRT battles next in Overland Park, Kansas at the end of February.
