Congratulations to Nour El-Sherbini and Mohamed El-Shorbagy for their victories at the 2016 J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions
Mohamed El Shorbagy and Nour El Sherbini make it an Egyptian double, 100% Tecnifibre, winning both titles at the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal.
Nour El-Sherbini (20 years old), No. 5 in the PSA rankings, lifted her first Tournament of Champion trophy defeating the New-York raised Amanda Sobhy (PSA No. 8) 3-1 : 11-4, 9-11, 12-10, 11-8.
“I don’t know what to say. It’s amazing and incredible … This tournament is very special and I will never forget that moment in my career. I am very proud!”
25-year-old World No.1 Mohamed El-Shorbagy won his 2nd title in a raw after defeating the Englishman Nick Matthew 3-2: 8-11, 11-6, 11-8, 6-11, 11-6.
“It’s such a great start for this season! The final was very tough and it’s always an honor to win over a champion like Nick. I enjoyed our long fight and I hope we will do it again in the future.”

The 2016 British Junior Open winner, Nouran Gohar, did an outstanding tournament reaching the semies and defeating the No.1 in the PSA rankings, Laura Massaro.
