Longoria closes out 2015 with a win
Arlington, Virginia - Paola Longoria - the No. 1 ranked player in the world - wrapped up the 2015 calendar year in dominating fashion. In the championship match of the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour’s (LPRT) Christmas Classic, Paola only gave up two points. For the 2015 year, Paola won 12 LPRT tournaments and only lost one match on the professional circuit. On the international stage, Paola won three Gold Medals at the Pan American Games in Toronto in July. This year Longoria also captured her first outdoor racquetball title! At the Virginia event, Paola also won the women’s professional doubles title. HEAD Penn’s Maria Jose Vargas reached the finals of the singles division while Veronica Sotomayor reached the semifinals at the same tournament.
The LPRT will now take a break for the holidays and play again in Cincinnati at the end of January. To follow Paola, Maria, Veronica and the rest of the HEAD Penn professional players, visit: facebook.com/headpennracquetball.
