Carson wins Michigan tourney again
Flint, Michigan - HEAD Penn’s Rocky Carson, the World’s No. 2 ranked racquetball player, has found a new home court advantage on the courts of the Davidson Athletic Club in Michigan. For the second year in a row Rocky won the Red Swain Shootout event on the International Racquetball Tour (IRT). The tournament victory was Carson’s first of the 2015-2016 season. He conquered the final in three games straight over Jose Rojas, 11-2, 11-2, 11-8.
The tournament win for Rocky was the 22nd professional title of his career, tying him for sixth all time. This tournament was Carson’s 213 appearance on the IRT, placing him third all time. Last summer, Rocky won the Gold Medal at the Pan Am Games in Toronto, becoming the most decorated male player of all time on the international stage with 18 career medals won.
HEAD Penn’s Brad Schopieray reached the semifinals of the Michigan event, a career best showing for the 22-year-old. This tournament was held at the Michigan native’s home club making the tournament run even more special for Schopieray.
