PGA TOUR Superstore announces 14 MRTs
ATLANTA, GA - PGA TOUR Superstore, the fastest growing golf and tennis retailer in the U.S., today announced 14 of its tennis associates have received the highest certification a racquet sports retailer can receive, earning recognition as Master Racquet Technicians (MRT) by the United States Racquet Stringers Association.
“We’re excited to see the continued growth of tennis and thrilled to have so many newly-minted Master Racquet Technicians at our stores to ensure consumers receive the best service in retail,” said Dick Sullivan, President and CEO of PGA TOUR Superstore. “Our technicians passed a comprehensive exam that tests their knowledge of all facets of racquet service so our customers can receive the best in class service and get fit with the racquet, string and tension that best suits their tennis game.”
The MRTs at PGA TOUR Superstore have proven their expertise, maintaining their MRT status by keeping their USRSA membership up to date and by passing an annual test on manufacturers’ technologies. PGA TOUR Superstore offers a wide selection of tennis merchandise, tennis racquet stringing and repair services.
“The exam measures understanding of how to install string, how to select the optimum racquet for every player and how to re-size handles, regrip racquets and customize weight and balance,” said David Bone, USRSA executive director. “An MRT must also demonstrate advanced knowledge of current frame and string technology and how that technology translates to player satisfaction.”
“The MRT offers consumers the best assurance of superior racquet service,” Bone noted. “And this certification provides a competitive advantage for a retailer that wants to attract knowledgeable, quality conscious consumers. In other words, the MRT benefits both the professionals who earn the designation and those they serve.”
The following PGA TOUR Superstore tennis associates have passed the examination and satisfied the experience requirements to earn MRT status:
- RJ Rumsey - Roswell, GA
- Mike Sims - Duluth/Sugarloaf, GA
- Keia Ryan - Duluth/Sugarloaf, GA
