Longoria wins singles and doubles in Colombia
Cali, Colombia — Paola Longoria, the World’s Best Female Racquetball Player, showed zero rust from the short summer offseason en route to winning both the singles and doubles titles at the 2015-16 Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) season opening event in Colombia.
In singles play, Paola cruised through the bracket and along her way defeated the No. 2 and No. 5 ranked players in the World. In the singles final, Longoria defeated fellow HEAD Penn teammate Maria Jose Vargas.
The victory in Cali is Longoria’s 61st career tournament victory on tour. Last season Paola won 10 events on the LPRT and finished the playing year in late July with a triple gold medal performance at the Pan Am Games in Toronto.
Next stop for Paola and Maria is the UnitedHealthcare US OPEN Racquetball Championships in Minneapolis the first week in October.
