HEAD Penn juniors rule RB nationals
Stockton, California - Players on HEAD Penn’s Junior Team flooded the podium at the 2015 USA Racquetball National Junior Olympic Championships. The tournament, presented by Penn, brought more than 200 of the nation’s best junior racquetball players to Northern California for the 42nd edition of the event. Headlining the HEAD Penn team in Stockton were four players who all earned spots on the U.S. National Junior Team that will compete at the World Junior Championships this fall in the Dominican Republic.
Jordan Cooperrider (Palm Harbor, FL) won the Girls 16 & Under Doubles Division and was a runner-up in the Girls 16 & Under Singles Division. In addition to earning a spot on the National Team with her top finishes, Jordan was named the 2015 USA Racquetball Junior Female Athlete of the Year.
Also earning spots on the team heading to the Dominican Republic were Jordan Barth (Cold Spring, MN), Kevin Vasquez (Miami, FL), and Kaitlyn Boyle (Beaverton, OR). Barth won the Boys 16 & Under Singles Division and was also a runner-up in the Boys 16 & Under Doubles Division. Vasquez took home the Boys 16 & Under Doubles Division title and finished third in the Boys 16 & Under Singles Division. Boyle reached the final of the Girls 14 & Under Singles Division and won the Girls 14 & Under Doubles Division. Other HEAD Penn players who took home medals at the Junior Olympic Championships include:
- Kyle Ulliman (Westerville, OH) - Silver Medal , Boys 18 & Under Doubles
- Timmy Hansen (Wellington, FL) - Silver Medal, Boys 12 & Under Doubles / Bronze Medal, Boys 12 & Under Singles
- Kara Piepenbrink (Tampa, FL) - 4th Place, Girls 18 & Under Singles
- Gracia Wargo (Clearwater, FL) - 2nd Place, Girls 14 & Under Singles
