USTA to host fifth annual job fair

June 25, 2015

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The USTA (United States Tennis Association), the national governing body for the sport of tennis in the U.S., which owns and operates the US Open Tennis Championships, today announced that they are hosting the fifth annual US Open job fair. For the third consecutive year there will be two job fairs, starting with an exclusive opportunity for residents of the borough of Queens, N.Y. on Tuesday, July 7th from 2 pm to 7 pm followed by a second opportunity open to the public on Wednesday, July 8th from 11 am to 4 pm.

Both US Open job fairs will be held at the Sheraton LaGuardia East, 135-20 39th Ave., Flushing, N.Y. 11354. All job-seekers are urged to arrive early, as doors will close promptly at the ending time. The Queens job fair is open to all residents of Queens.

Job-seekers will have an opportunity to speak with US Open staff and its vendors about the various open positions, such as guest services, facility operations, cooks, concessions, drivers, maintenance, security, cashiers, and customer service representatives. For those unable to attend the job fair, applications for available positions at the US Open will be accepted through August. Additional information about available USTA positions can be found online at usopen.org.

Last year’s successful event brought out over 1200 job-seekers from each of the city’s boroughs, as well as from many parts of the tri-state area.

“Having a chance to be part of the team that puts on one of the greatest sporting events in the world is a great opportunity for anyone,” said Danny Zausner, Chief Operating Officer of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. “For the two weeks of the US Open, Flushing Meadows is the center of the sports world, and we’re delighted to once again provide our Queens neighbors and tri-state residents with the chance to be part of the excitement and fun!”
