CopperWynd announces new Director of Tennis
Scottsdale, Arizona - Cliff Drysdale Tennis and CopperWynd Resort & Club are pleased to announce their new director of tennis, Mark Chellas.
Chellas will transition to CopperWynd from The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne in Miami, FL where he managed the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Garden since 2004. Under Chellas’ leadership the program was awarded many accolades from tennis and travel publications, and is the largest tennis facility under The Ritz-Carlton hospitality brand worldwide. Prior to his tennis management career, Chellas was a professional player on the tennis tour in his native Australia, Germany, France and in the US. He has also trained at and coached for the renowned John Newcombe Academies in Australia and in Texas.
“Mark has a stellar combination of skills as a leader and creative thinker and is an exceptional coach and mentor” stated Don Henderson, CEO of Cliff Drysdale Tennis. “His potential for growing and enhancing CopperWynd’s tennis program and the southwest region’s tennis industry as a whole is substantial.”
Cliff Drysdale Tennis took over the Scottsdale resort’s tennis program effective May 1, 2015. The tennis management team has enacted plans to expand and revitalize the tennis experience for members and resort guests alike at the Arizona tennis destination.
