Longoria strengthens hold on top ranking
Overland Park, Kansas — HEAD Penn’s Paola Longoria kicked off the second half of the 2014-2015 Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour season in the same dominating manner in which she cruised through the first half. The winner of five of the six events she played in this season, Longoria demolished the competition at the Winter Classic in Overland Park, Kansas without dropping a single game and only allowing 30 total points scored against her all weekend.
The win in Kansas became Paola’s 56th career tournament title on the LPRT. Fellow HEAD Penn player, Maria Jose Vargas, reached semifinals before an injury forced her to retire the match in the fourth game. Vargas has reached at least the semifinals in every LPRT event this season, including her first professional career tournament victory at the December event in Virginia.
