HEAD Penn dominates pro racquetball
Entering the weekend, HEAD Penn’s Paola Longoria and Rocky Carson were the No. 1 players on their respective tours, Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) and International Racquetball Tour (IRT). Neither players disappointed and went home with tournament championships.
In Cincinnati, Longoria didn’t drop a game en route to her 55th career tournament title on the LPRT. In the women’s professional singles final, Paola defeated fellow HEAD Penn professional player Maria Jose Vargas 12-10, 11-7, 11-5. Longoria also won the women’s professional doubles title in Ohio where she again defeated Vargas and her playing partner.
In South Dakota, Rocky Carson won the men’s professional doubles division at the 37th Annual Lewis Drug Pro-Am. As the top seed in the men’s professional singles division, Rocky reached the tournament’s final before falling.
Both the IRT and LPRT take about a month off before the men visit Sarasota, Florida and the ladies play in Overland Park, Kansas.
