Tecnifibre congratulates Xu Shilin
After having won the Junior Olympics in Nanjing (China) in August, Tecnifibre player Xu Shilin won her 2nd Grade A title of the year at the Osaka Mayor’s Cup in Japan. One day after winning the doubles title with her partner Sara Tomic, “Coco” stepped back onto Centre Court to win the singles title in front of 2,000 spectators by beating Australian Kimberly Birrell 7/5, 6/3.
At 16 years of age, “Coco” will become the World Number 1 junior this week!
“I am very happy to have won the singles title this week and also to have successfully defended my doubles title this week. I’m quite tired now as I had to play 3 matches on both Friday and Saturday due to the rain this week. Thank you to all the people who supported me this week. I hope to be back in Osaka next year, for the WTA this time.”
Xu Shilin, who has been part of the Tecnifibre team since 2010, plays with the T-FLASH 315 racquet and Razor Code Strings.
