All Head Penn final at UHC US Open
Minneapolis, Minnesota - For the third event in a row on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT), the tournament final was an all HEAD Penn affair. World No. 1 Paola Longoria continued her dominance of the tour with a straight game victory over fellow Team HEAD Penn player Maria Jose Vargas, 11-5, 11-3, 11-8 in the finals of the UnitedHealthcare US OPEN Racquetball Championships.
Longoria’s consecutive match winning streak on the LPRT now sits at 150 matches, while her consecutive professional tournament winning streak is pushed to 37. The win was Longoria’s 53rd career tournament title on the LPRT.
With her US OPEN finals appearance, Vargas moved up to the No. 2 ranking spot on the LPRT, a career high.
In Minneapolis, Paola also captured the title in the first ever US OPEN Women’s Professional Doubles division. In the final she was also matched up against Maria and her playing partner.
HEAD Penn’s Rocky Carson reached the semifinals in the Men’s Professional Singles division at the UnitedHealthcare US OPEN. In the Men’s Professional Doubles division Carson reached the finals. Both Longoria and Carson are coached by HEAD’s Hall of Fame Coaching Director, Fran Davis.
