Bernstein joins TIA Board of Directors
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC — Jason Bernstein, senior director of programming and acquisitions at ESPN, is the newest member of the Tennis Industry Association’s Board of Directors. Bernstein oversees digital media programming content acquisitions and scheduling for ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network, ESPN3, and its authenticated networks service, WatchESPN. He is also responsible for the content acquisition and scheduling strategy for ESPN’s tennis business.
“We’re delighted to have Jason join our Board of Directors,” said TIA Executive Director Jolyn de Boer. “I’m very much looking forward to working with him, along with the entire Board of Directors and our industry partners, in helping to grow this industry.” Bernstein’s first meeting as a TIA Board member was March 11, during the inaugural Future of Tennis Summit held in Indian Wells, Calif.
Over the last two years, Bernstein’s efforts have led to ESPN’s landmark 11-year agreement with the US Open, long-term extensions of the Australian Open and French Open coverage, ATP and WTA TV and digital season-long content, and the Wimbledon acquisition. Bernstein, who joined ESPN in 2002, also is the architect of the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest as a made-for-TV event.
