Van B. Stafford named PTR OH Member of the Year
Hilton Head Island, SC — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) presented its annual awards last week during the 2014 PTR International Tennis Symposium. The event, which includes 40-plus on court and classroom presentations for tennis teachers and coaches, a trade show and tournament, was held on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Linda van Batenburg Stafford, of Villa Hills, Kentucky, has been named PTR Member of the Year for Ohio. This award is presented to a PTR member in the United States who has shown dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting tennis and PTR.
Cardio Tennis Director, Teaching Professional and Manager of the Mercy HealthPlex pro shop at Anderson Hills Swim and Tennis Club, in Cincinnati, Ohio, van B. Stafford is a graduate of Ferris State with a degree in Business Marketing with emphasis in Professional Tennis Management. A PTR member since 1998, she has earned the Professional rating in two PTR education pathways: Adult Development and 10 & Under Tennis. She is also a USTA High Performance Coach. An advocate for education and professional development, van B. Stafford has trained under Wayne Elderton and Mike Barrell, and has hosted numerous PTR Certification Workshops so others can learn to teach the game.
