eBay Hire joins PTR
Hilton Head Island, SC — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) announced that eBay’s new division, eBay Hire has signed on as a Corporate Member.
Beyond buying and selling products, eBay Hire takes the eBay concept a step further by offering a new way to connect customers to services. It is designed to let tennis (and golf) pros ‘sell’ their services to eBay customers in their vicinity. PTR pros will have a profile page where customers can view information about their experience and rates. As the service grows, eBay plans to add features, including relevant product searches where a customer looking for tennis racquets might also be shown certified pros available in their zip code.
Since it is in its infancy, currently eBay Hire is not charging a registration fee and is not charging a commission. After the pilot program, the company expects to charge fees for each booking similarly when users sell items on eBay.
In addition to PTR, eBay Hire is working with the US Golf Teachers Federation and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
