TIA announces meetings in Early 2014

October 22, 2013

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC — The Tennis Industry Association (TIA) will hold two industry meetings in early 2014—the “TIA Future of Tennis Summit” March 11-12 in California, and the “TIA Facility Owners and Managers Conference” April 3-4 in South Carolina.

The Future of Tennis Summit will take place in Indian Wells, Calif., during the BNP Paribas Open men’s and women’s pro tournament. The summit will include discussions and speakers that will take a top-level view of the industry, define goals and benchmarks, and help to chart a path that will ensure a profitable tennis marketplace and an image of tennis attractive to both recreational tennis players and tennis fans.

The meeting will bring together leaders and executives both inside and outside of the tennis industry to help define pathways and strategic efforts to reaching long-term goals, which include impacting significant growth at both the trade and consumer levels. One of the industry’s main objectives is to increase the number of frequent players in the U.S. from its current 5.4 million to 10 million by the year 2020, which the TIA estimates will add nearly $4 billion to the “tennis economy.”

In April, the TIA will host tennis facility owners and club managers from across the country at the 2014 “Facility Owners and Managers Conference” in Charleston, S.C., during the Family Circle Cup women’s tennis tournament. The conference will feature some of the industry’s leading experts in tennis facility operations and management, who will present sessions and highlight resources on a variety of business topics including staffing, retailing, programming, and technology. The event will also provide attendees with a great networking opportunity and allow tennis facility owners and managers to share their experiences and best practices.

“Tennis facilities are a crucial component of the overall delivery system and provider network for this industry,” says TIA Executive Director Jolyn de Boer, “and providing this type of educational and business-enrichment opportunity for owners and managers is important to the long-term success of our industry.”

Additional details regarding both meetings will be at TennisIndustry.org. To contact the TIA regarding these upcoming meetings, email [email protected] or call (843) 686-3036.
