ITHF Class of 2013 to be announced March 4
NEWPORT, R.I. — The International Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2013 will be announced on Monday, March 4. The announcement will be made in a joint press conference celebrating World Tennis Day and the BNP Paribas Showdown, which will feature Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Juan Martin del Potro, and Rafael Nadal, in matches that evening at Madison Square Garden.
Enshrinement in the International Tennis Hall of Fame is the highest honor available in the sport of tennis. The BNP Paribas Showdown will be a centerpiece of the day’s festivities. In addition, there will be a BNP Paribas Showdown in Hong Kong, featuring Agnieszka Radwanska, Caroline Wozniacki, Ivan Lendl and John McEnroe. Also at the Showdown in New York, MSG Sports and StarGames, in partnership with the United States Tennis Association, will continue their efforts to grow youth participation in tennis by supporting “Tennis Night in America” with a pre-match demonstration with players 10 years of age and younger.
The press conference will feature the Hall of Fame Enshrinement Announcement, as well as the BNP Paribas Showdown players, and representatives of the USTA.
