PTR and GPTCA sign partnership agreement
Melbourne, AUSTRALIA — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) announced a partnership agreement with the Global Professional Tennis Association (GPTCA) yesterday at a meeting held during the Australian Open.
PTR CEO, Dan Santorum and PTR Board Member, Leo Alonso joined GPTCA Board Member, Dirk Hordorff, and GPTCA Director of Communications, Giorgio Di Palermo, to announce a partnership that will tie together a new organization like GPTCA with the very experienced PTR, the leader in tennis education and certification for coaches around the world.
“We are very excited to partner with GPTCA, said PTR CEO, Dan Santorum. “They are so passionate and enthusiastic, as well as competent in professional tennis. We look forward to a strong cooperation for the benefit of tennis.”
GPTCA Board member, Dirk Hordorff added, “The experience and the global network of PTR could really make a difference in taking both associations to a higher level. We will work hard to make sure members in both associations benefit from this partnership.”
A press conference has been set for March, during the Sony Open in Miami, to inform the tennis industry about specific plans, as well as provide a photo opportunity.
GPTCA is an international organization dedicated to improving tennis coaches through education, interaction and networking. Founded in 2010, by 49 tour level coaches, GPTCA works to further the interests of the game, as well as the coaches who participate in the sport. The GPTCA mission is to unify all world class coaches in one association for the first time in history, and to foster higher standards of professionalism and ethics.
PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 14,000 members in 117 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization. PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
