PTR Directors of Tennis Conference
Hilton Head Island, SC — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) announced today that it will hold its inaugural Directors of Tennis Conference on October 16-18, 2012, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. This will be the first conference in North America that is targeted specifically to Directors of Tennis.
“We spoke with representatives in the tennis industry about the need to offer more of a business tract dedicated to helping Directors of Tennis,” said Dan Santorum, CEO of PTR. Both PTR and the tennis industry are excited, and we believe this will strengthen our profession, tennis facilities and our sport.”
The format will be similar to most conferences, with experts presenting for one hour at a time on a wide spectrum of topics that will allow broad based learning experience. Each day will close with round table discussions, so attendees can share their best practices on a variety of subjects.
The inaugural conference will be limited to 75 attendees who are Directors of Tennis in the United States, US territories and Canada, and will be on a first come first served basis. A variety of topics relevant to Directors (indoor, resort, country club and private facility) will be addressed by our faculty, that includes Directors of Tennis and Consultants Doug Cash, Jorge Andrew, Roy Barth, David Brouwer, Michael Mahoney, Mark McMahon and others.
“TIA is looking forward to being involved and to providing an update of where our industry is right now and where we believe it is headed,” said Jolyn de Boer, TIA Executive Director. “We applaud PTR for its ongoing effort to offer continuing education and training.”
The USTA will host a luncheon and Kurt Kamperman, USTA Chief Executive of Community Tennis and a former Director of Tennis, will be one of the keynote speakers. Kamperman added, “Directors of Tennis are vital to the success of tennis facilities. The more efficiently and effectively tennis facilities are managed, the more robust the tennis industry will be.”
The conference will also feature vendor displays to showcase products and services important to this audience.
Registration is now open by calling PTR at 843-785-7244.
