Nesquik to sponsor 'Little Mo' Internationals
Dallas, TX — The Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation announced that Nestlé® NESQUIK® will be the title sponsor for an international tennis tournament for juniors ages 8 to 12. The inaugural NESQUIK “Little Mo” Internationals — Forest Hills will be held at the historic West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, New York from August 20-24, 2012 and celebrates the 60th anniversary of Maureen “Little Mo” Connolly’s U.S. Championship win at Forest Hills in 1952. “Little Mo” won the U.S. Championship three consecutive years (1951, 1952, 1953) and is the youngest and only American woman to win the Grand Slam (1953).
“NESQUIK is the perfect partner for our tournament,” said Carol Weyman, Executive Vice-president, Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation. “As a beloved brand that has been a part of childhood and beyond for years, it is the perfect product to be paired with Little Mo.”
Sponsored NESQUIK athletes and brothers Mike and Bob Bryan—all-time men’s doubles team record holders and ranked #1 in the world—will share their award-winning expertise with a clinic and exhibition match for the young tournament players. Additionally, players will have an opportunity to attend the U.S. Open qualifying rounds and the Arthur Ashe Kids Day on Saturday, August 25.
The tournament is open to any player from around the world ages 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. Players must wear all white in keeping with the tradition of Forest Hills, and matches will be played on full 78-foot clay courts with yellow balls. The tournament will be the premier challenge for youngsters to compete against players from other countries who are the same age.
