Team HEAD supports future tennis stars
Kennelbach, Austria — HEAD Tennis starts into 2012 with a fresh focus on social media to bring together its highly talented group of around 4,000 sponsored youth players between the age of 8 and 21 around the world, and does so with a new name — Team HEAD!
Scouting for the tennis stars of tomorrow and supporting their career from an early stage is a crucial part of HEAD’s brand philosophy and sponsoring policy. Ottmar Barbian, Division Manager HEAD Racquet Sports, emphasizes this strategy by saying, “The development of youth tennis around the world and the support for the young players today, who will be the stars of tomorrow, is certainly one of our priorities as a brand.”
For more than 8 years, HEAD has been running its Team Elite junior sponsoring program, aimed at supporting youth tennis players in more than 50 countries. Many top stars playing on the Pro Tour today have gone through the program, including ATP World Tour No. 1 Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray or Richard Gasquet.
Team HEAD will continue this global sponsorship program, making sure young, talented HEAD players have the best equipment to enhance their game. But being a TEAM HEAD member is more than simply getting product support. HEAD cares about each Team HEAD player’s development and offers support via local representatives, creating a world-wide team spirit.
As part of the re-launch of the program, HEAD is also keen to bring this team spirit into the world of Social Media and create an online community of Team HEAD members.
The Team HEAD online world will comprise a multi-platform approach with focus on social media. The main portal is the official Facebook page facebook.com/teamhead with a members-only area, which will offer TEAM HEAD players exclusive content and applications, the chance to win VIP tickets to ATP events, apply for pro-tournament Wild Cards, and access to tips, tricks and gear that nobody else even comes close to. The pros of tomorrow will be able to communicate instantly via Facebook with other members and keep current on trends in the game, the equipment and the way that HEAD can help them to develop their skills further and faster.
For the Facebook fansite, Team HEAD members receive a personal login, which allows them to enter the exclusive member area. A free personalised Team HEAD T-Shirt will be the initial reward for entering the Team HEAD App - and becoming part of a global, digitally connected group of young tennis over-achievers.
