Guinness Tennis Record attempt
LONDON — This summer, endurance athlete Mike Wisner will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of three-set tennis matches played in succession. Guinness World Records have set the record at 20, but Wisner will attempt to play at least 25 consecutive games of tennis on grass, clay and hard courts against opposition made up of celebrities and local players. He will pit his considerable skills against Sam and Holly Branson, children of Sir Richard Branson, amongst others.
Editor-in-chief at Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday, said: “To set a new Guinness World Record, Mike will have to complete 20 three-set tennis matches in succession. This will be a great personal test of endurance and we’d like to wish Mike the very best of luck.”

The Mike Wisner Tennis Challenge is a thrilling personal endurance event, a charitable fundraising occasion and a record-breaking attempt. The event is in collaboration with, and in support of, the charity Right to Play. Their mission is: ’to improve the lives of children in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace’.
Through sponsorship, donations and fundraising at the event itself, it is hoped in excess of £20,000 will be raised for the charity. 100% of the proceeds of this event will go directly to Right to Play.
Mike Wisner is passionate about Right to Play’s mission and hopes that, “through doing something eye-catching and pushing my body and mind to the limit, I can help raise awareness and funds for a very worthy cause. Sport has been a huge part of my life, it helps give you many of the skills you need - no child should be denied the opportunity to benefit from sport.”
The Mike Wisner Tennis Challenge will take place during the annual British peak in interest in tennis - the second week of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships. It is hoped that this heightened period of interest in the sport will enable Wisner to achieve the main goal of raising money for Right to Play.
